We strive to do business in a more enlightened way, where we take responsibility for the impact of our business on society and the environment, aiming to move these impacts from negative to neutral or (better still) positive.

There are no black and white answers as to what is good and what is bad. It depends on where, when and how the food is produced, how it is transported, how much is wasted (either along the supply chain or in your own home). We are acutely aware of the impact we have upon society, the environment and nature. In order to minimise negative factors, we frequently review, and change as necessary and where possible, our production methods and processes.

Our journey began in 1927, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to environmental for future generations.

Sourcing Sustainably

We are conscious that everything we do has an impact on the environment and people. Our cocoa is purchased through the Cocoa Horizon scheme, that looks to improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and their communities. Through the promotion of sustainable, entrepreneurial farming, improved productivity, and community development, which protect nature and children.

Packaging

All our cartons are made from 100% Forest Steward Council (FSC) certified cardboard. From forests that meet high environmental standards, including fair treatment of the forestry workers.

Our packaging is recyclable, from the box, to the tray*, to the chocolate menu.

*the tray is also made from 100% recycled plastic.

We use renewable electricity and LED lighting on all our sites. Although the energy comes at a higher price, we feel it is well worth it.
